The Monkeys are Dead.

Way back in 2004 when Dan & I left Art College, (* no actually I left he stayed.. anyway) … yeah anyway after I left we set-up the moniker (see what we did) of designbymonkey or monkey or dbm or how every choose to put it on any given day. We produced some good work, most of it on a ever so straight learning curve but we did good. Whilst I was making tea for all of drum and bass, Dan was working on his master plan to going to China and being a budist… and inbetween all this we managed to bang out a website for the Ez Rollers, Hey Buddy, a couple of budding Photographers. One who seemed to have an unfitting addiction to photographing his wife because either a. he had no clients or b. he had no clients. Eitherway it was money.

And now as I look back at those past 4 years alot has happened. I for one have gone from making tea to running an online shop to managing a group of record labels through to working at one of the biggest record labels in the world. and now? I run my own online record store, freelance (still) and work with some like minded characters. 4 years seems such a short amount of time.

and Dan? Well lets see… crappy Agency to AKQA (the biggest Agency), moves to Amsterdam and back and then works for Mook (a nice little Agency).

I think we were on too something, shame it only lasted 4 years.
